Can we impact the quality of CV care by building on existing data collection efforts?

Treatment with ADP Receptor Inhibitors
Study Conclusion:
TRANSLATE-ACS, a longitudinal, observational study, compared the effectiveness of antiplatelet therapy among patients treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Prasugrel use was not associated with lower risk of major adverse cardiac outcomes (death, recurrent heart attack, stroke, or unplanned coronary procedures), but was associated with significantly lower adjusted risk of stent thrombosis. Prasugrel was associated with a higher bleeding risk relative to clopidogrel.
Study Population:
More than 12,000 heart attack patients treated with PCI at 233 hospitals in the U.S.
