Study Conclusion:

STEMI Accelerator showed that having a standardized plan to more quickly implement procedures to clear blood obstructions in the heart will lead to better outcomes for patients. The program helped to identify gaps, barriers, and inefficiencies in STEMI care and to devise strategies to improve the quality and consistency of care. Practices used were based on those developed as part of the RACE program (Regional Approach to Cardiovascular Emergencies).

Study Population:
Data was collected on treatment and outcomes of 6,841 STEMI patients treated using RACE guidelines.
