Study Focus:
ISCHEMIA is an international NIH-NHLBI mega trial that compared health effectiveness with medical and invasive approaches (invasive vs. medical therapy alone) for patients with stable ischemic heart disease.
Study Population:
5,956 patients met the enrollment criteria and were randomized across 320 sites in 38 countries.
Clinical Events Classification Insight:
Duke Clinical Research Institute adjudicated 4,400 events between 2012 and 2019, including death, myocardial infarction, hospitalization for unstable angina, stroke, hospitalization for heart failure, and resuscitated cardiac arrest.
